With March being Multiple Sclerosis Education Month, it’s important to raise awareness! According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), “Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.” The NMSS also states that the cause of MS is unknown.
Did you know?
- The average person in the United States has about one in 750 (.1%) chance of developing MS.
- Most diagnosed with MS are between the ages of 20 and 50.
- MS is at least two to three times more common in women than in men.
It’s important to visit a doctor and test to see if you have developed MS. For more information, visit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
